When can we see Launching Phase 4?
We will have a full digital proof available online later this term. This will give you the opportunity to explore the resource and make decisions before budgets close.
In terms of delivery, we’re currently targeting early December. However, we’re aware that international shipping is under pressure, and getting resources to schools before they close for the year can be challenging with different school closure dates and the usual pre-Christmas courier pressures.
We will definitely have copies ready to send by mid-January, so they’ll be available when schools return.
Who is Launching Phase 4 aimed at?
Launching Phase 4 is designed for students who are working towards Phase 4 of the curriculum. In most cases, this will be Year 9 students arriving at your school with knowledge gaps. However, it could just as easily be a Year 10 student who has struggled during Year 9.
Essentially, the title is designed to fit wherever you think it will best support your students.
Will my order be delivered reliably?

Why can I only purchase Launching Phase 4 from the Wekabooks website?
Launching Phase 4 is published exclusively by Wekabooks, so the only place to purchase it is directly through our website.
Wekabooks is a new New Zealand educational publisher. With Launching Phase 4 as our first publication, we're choosing to sell directly through our website so we can provide responsive service, reliable delivery, and direct support to schools and teachers.
Why isn't the book available through educational suppliers?
At this stage, we've chosen to distribute Launching Phase 4 exclusively through Wekabooks. This allows us to keep the ordering process straightforward and provide direct support to schools and educators.
As Wekabooks grows, we'll continue to review the best ways to make our resources available while maintaining the high level of service our customers expect.
Is it a workbook or a textbook?
Launching Phase 4 is a 312-page workbook designed with less content per page and a larger font than Foundation. It has been carefully structured to support ākonga who may find mathematics challenging, making the content more accessible and manageable.
When will Launching Phase 4 be available?
We are planning to have Launching Phase 4 in stock in New Zealand by late November to early December. However, as schools have different closing dates, it may be difficult to ensure safe and secure delivery during December.
However, this means we will have plenty of time to process orders and arrange delivery to schools once they reopen in mid-January.
Will you be producing a digital Teacher Resource (digital answer file) for Launching Phase 4?
Unfortunately, we won’t be producing a digital Teacher Resource for Launching Phase 4 at this time. Our current focus is on getting the print edition organised, and we will review the best way to provide a digital answer file at a later date.
The good news is that Launching Phase 4 will include answers at the back of the book, so teachers and ākonga can work through the solutions and understand the steps involved.
Where does Launching Phase 4 fit with Walkermath Foundation and Elevation?
Feedback from teachers has shown that WalkerMaths Foundation can be too challenging for some ākonga. Wekabooks Launching Phase 4 bridges this gap by revisiting key Phase 3 content and introducing selected Phase 4 skills at a manageable pace.
Does it align with the new curriculum?
Yes. Launching Phase 4 is aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum, while being designed at a more accessible pace for ākonga who need additional support.
It revisits selected Phase 3 content and introduces key Phase 4 skills across the number, algebra, measurement, geometry, statistics and probability strands.
